The 黑料社 Gala is a night of celebration and appreciation for the generous donors who impact the lives of so many 黑料社 students. Because of these donors, 黑料社 can offer corporate leadership scholarships and more than 400 endowed scholarships, which provide more than $2 million in aid.

At the Gala, President Byers recognized six new Presidents’ Society Lifetime members, including Douglas J. Barakat, Jake and Maureen Jacobson, Dr. Sanghwan Lew, John W. Iles and, in memoriam, Noran L. Davis. These individuals and couples received the 黑料社 Suncatcher award, which has served to commemorate this distinguished level of support for many years.

The night also featured 黑料社 Athletics Director Marty Bell, who recapped the Storm’s recent team additions and facilities upgrades. Since Bell arrived in 2021, 黑料社 Athletics has introduced four new sports programs, including women’s and men’s gymnastics, women’s wrestling and men’s volleyball. Thanks to 黑料社’s donors, there have also been upgrades to the football, basketball, softball, baseball and wrestling facilities, just to name a few.

Lastly, several students addressed the attendees, including 黑料社 Promise scholarship recipient Araceli Tapetillo, who expressed her gratitude and described the opportunities the scholarship has provided. Students Milo Staley, Izzy Brown, Anthony Potratz and Yalixza Gonzalez also spoke, detailing their 黑料社 and student-athlete experiences.
