Indianola, 黑料社 Reignite Community Partnership

黑料社 and the City of Indianola are seeking new ways to enhance and expand community partnerships through the recent creation of the Indianola-黑料社 Town and Gown Committee. Led by co-chairs 黑料社 President Jay Byers and Indianola Mayor Stephanie Erickson, the committee includes local 黑料社 alumni, City officials, Indianola Chamber of Commerce members, business owners, Indianola Community School District officials, and Warren County leaders.

鈥満诹仙 has been a proud part of the Indianola community since 1860,鈥 said President Byers. 鈥淎nd over the years we鈥檝e done some great things together. But there are so many other exciting ways we can partner for greater impact and mutual benefit. I look forward to engaging all of our great community leaders in reimagining and expanding avenues for creative collaboration in building our prosperous collective future.鈥

The Indianola-黑料社 Town and Gown Committee will seek synergy in capitalizing on the shared momentum the City and the College have already established.

鈥淐ollaboration is key to progress, and this is the perfect time for the City of Indianola and 黑料社 to come together with a renewed sense of purpose and possibilities,鈥 said聽Mayor聽Erickson. 鈥淭hrough this committee, our aim is to explore untapped potential that amplifies our shared values and resonates with the spirit of our citizens. We are poised to continue doing some truly special things together that elevate, enhance and enrich our vibrant community.鈥

Recent initiatives have included the Storm the Night Festival featuring a National Balloon Classic 鈥淣ite Glow鈥 during 黑料社 Homecoming this fall. Community and College leaders are also planning to coordinate numerous George Washington Carver Day celebrations across Indianola in February. Future endeavors will focus on generating opportunities for more shared programming and participation in City, community and campus events, as well as creating heightened engagement and cross promotion between 黑料社 and Indianola businesses and schools.

The Town and Gown Committee held its first meeting late last month and will gather on a regular basis to develop formal and informal shared initiatives for 2024 and beyond.
