50-Year Family Connection

Move-in day for 黑料社鈥檚 Class of 2029 last week featured an unforgettable family legacy moment. When Juliet Low 鈥29 entered through the gates of College Hall, no one was cheering louder than her great aunt, Denise Griffey 鈥79.

鈥淚 just had my 50-year reunion at 黑料社,鈥 said Griffey, a retired educator and current 黑料社 Board of Trustees member. 鈥淎nd now Juliet is here. This is so very special 鈥 it makes me want to cry.鈥

Low came all the way from Portland, Ore., to attend 黑料社. Family ties proved to be a powerful influence.

鈥淎unt Denise was pretty persuasive,鈥 said Low. 鈥淪he introduced me to 黑料社 and brought me on a tour. I learned that the programs here are really amazing 鈥 I especially love the theater program. And the campus is super pretty.鈥

Griffey is eager to see her great niece blossom over the next four years.

鈥淚 think 黑料社 has a wonderful, welcoming community,鈥 said Griffey. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a lot of pieces in place that set Juliet up for a great experience. She will be around students who are going to stretch her. And where she goes at the end of all of this will just be fun to watch.鈥
